Try Hockey For Free Day 2023 is Coming Up!
On Saturday, November 5th, USA Hockey and 450 local association across the country will host Try Hockey For Free Day! Participating locations encourage kids, ages 4 to 9, to come try youth hockey as part of Hockey Week Across America.

More About Try Hockey For Free Day!
USA Hockey’s Try Hockey For Free Day is designed to provide children (ages 4-9) with a free opportunity to experience the sport of hockey. This unique event will give kids a chance to try hockey in a fun, safe and positive environment through various local participating youth hockey organizations.
All across the country, hundreds of rinks will open their doors to introduce children to the game in hopes of growing the sport from within. It’s an opportunity for kids who may never have considered playing hockey an option, to come out and experience all the great things the sport has to offer.
Do we need our own hockey experience to participate?
There is no prior skating or hockey experience necessary. Your athlete will be on the ice with certified coaches and instructors who are there to help players of all abilities and show them how FUN hockey is for everyone.
Do we need our own hockey equipment to participate?
Most host locations will have loaner equipment, however, you are welcome to bring your own if you have it. Contact your host site directly for more information on equipment availability.
Do I need a USA Hockey membership to Try Hockey?
No! During registration, you will fill out a waiver for the participant, this will ensure you are covered by USA Hockey for your try hockey event. You will receive more information about a USA Hockey membership after your try hockey event.
