How cool is this? I could see this as a centerpiece of a Halloween party table!
Guacamole Goes Spookamole
~ Serves: 4 ~
1 tube of pre-made crescent rolls or croissants
2 Avocados from Mexico, halved, peeled and cubed
1 medium tomato, chopped
1/3 cucumber, peeled and diced
1/8 cup of chives, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 tablespoon cream cheese, softened
4 cherry tomatoes, halved
Open a tube of pre-made croissants and spread in a fan shape on a round stone, ensuring that the middle of the stone is fully covered as this will be the base of your bowl. Crumple aluminum foil into a long tube. Place the aluminum foil tube around the edge of the croissants in a circular shape. Pull the edges of the croissant dough over the foil circle to create “fingers.” Bake according to the instructions on the packet. Once golden-brown (10-12 minutes), remove from oven and let cool.
In a separate bowl, mash the avocados. Add tomato, cucumber, chives garlic, powder, sea salt, cumin, lime juice and mix well.
Carefully remove foil ring from the cooled Freakish Fingerbowl. Spoon the Spookamole into the bowl. Spoon the sour cream into a small plastic bag and cut off a corner of the bag to pipe several circles on the Spookamole. Use a toothpick to shape the circles into a spider web. Spread cream cheese on the ends of the “fingertips” and use it as a paste to hold down the chopped cherry tomato. You have now added the spooky “fingernails.” Serve with chips of your choice.
Optional; adorn with plastic spiders.
