Do I have to successfully donate to get the gift card?

How do I get my Red Cross gift card?
For the current e-gift card promotions, redemption instructions are sent to the email address associated with your American Red Cross donor profile.
They generally arrive approximately 30 days after your attempted donation.
Can I choose which gift card I receive?
When an offer specifies an e-gift card to a merchant of your choice, you’ll receive redemption instructions that allow you to select from the participating merchants available for that promotion.
Can I get more than one Red Cross donor reward?
It depends on the promotion.
