Free Books & Educational Materials
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library: This incredible program mails a free, high-quality book to children from birth to age five every month, regardless of income, in participating areas. Check their website for availability in your zip code.
- Free Printables: We have a ton of free coloring pages, educational worksheets, holiday crafts, and more that you can print at home.
- Local Library Programs: Many libraries have summer reading programs with free incentives, story times, and even free access to educational apps or online resources. Beyond books, your library card can unlock free access to online learning platforms, streaming services, and more!
Stickers
- Free Stickers from Companies: TONS of brands (from outdoor gear to food companies) will send free stickers if you politely request them, often by mail. This is a fun way to get kids writing too!
Birthday Freebies
- Many restaurants and retailers offer free food, treats, or small gifts for kids on their birthdays when you sign up for their email clubs. Examples often include free ice cream, cookies, or small toys.
Tips for Claiming Your Freebies
- Be Patient: Freebies, especially those sent by mail, can take several weeks to arrive.
- Read the Fine Print: Always check eligibility requirements (age, location) and any specific instructions for requesting.
- Protect Your Privacy: Be mindful of the information you share, especially when signing up for online offers. Stick to reputable brands and organizations.
- Check Locally: Don’t forget to explore resources in your own community – libraries, community centers, and local businesses are often hidden gems for free kid-friendly opportunities.
With a little effort and the right resources, you can keep your kids entertained, educated, and excited with a steady stream of fantastic freebies. Happy hunting!
Frequently Asked Questions: Kids Freebies
A: It’s all about marketing! Companies like Home Depot or LEGO know that if you come in for a free workshop, you’re likely to shop while you’re there. For mail-in freebies, they are often hoping you’ll fall in love with a product and become a loyal customer.
A: I only share deals from reputable, household-name brands. However, I always recommend using a dedicated “deal email” address and only sharing the minimum information required.
A: Freebies sent by mail take time! The average “arrival window” is 6 to 10 weeks. If it’s been longer than that, the offer may have reached its limit before your request was processed.
A: 95% of the items on this list include free shipping. If a “freebie” requires a high shipping fee, I usually don’t include it unless the item’s value is significantly higher than the cost of shipping.
