If you’ve had Amazon Prime, you may have some money coming your way — and you don’t need to fill out a claim form to get it!

Amazon is expanding its consumer refund payments following the Federal Trade Commission’s $2.5 billion settlement over allegations involving deceptive Prime enrollment and cancellation practices.

Under the September 2025 FTC settlement, Amazon was required to provide up to $1.5 billion in refunds to consumers, along with paying a $1 billion civil penalty.

So far, Amazon has already issued more than $845 million in refunds, but now even more Prime customers may qualify.

Who Could Get an Amazon Prime Refund?

Eligibility is expanding to include millions of customers who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits during a one-year period.

Even better, the maximum amount an eligible consumer can receive could increase from $51 to as much as $200 total.

If you already received and cashed an earlier refund check, you could still get more money. Some consumers may receive an additional automatic payment of up to $149, with those supplemental payments expected to begin by April 2027.

You Don’t Have to File a Claim

This is the important part: you don’t need to apply or fill out a claim form.

New payments are expected to begin October 1, 2026 and will be sent automatically through PayPal, Venmo or a mailed check.

So if you qualify, keep an eye on your email, payment accounts and mailbox.

Watch Out for Amazon Refund Scams

With this much money being sent out, scammers are almost guaranteed to try to take advantage of it.

The FTC says it will not ask you to pay money or provide banking information to receive your refund.

If someone contacts you saying you need to pay a fee, provide your bank account information or submit payment in order to claim your Amazon Prime refund, don’t do it.
