SwagFit Challenge Day 20: Check out Crystal Light!

No exercise today because of all the running around for Father’s Day but I did eat well!

Challenge:  The two big issues I have seen in the comments is sodas and not drinking enough water.  I have recently started drinking Crystal Light and I have been surprised how good they are.  I remembered them being icky but so far I haven’t found a flavor I didn’t like. If you are trying to drink more water and cut of sodas check it out, you might be surprised!

OK your turn…how did you do today? Eat right/exercise?

That sounds like a good idea. what are your favorite flavors? I ate a salad for lunch and plan on a special dinner, but only one helping. Im hoping moderation will keep me on track and motivated.

Been bad this weekend. It was my partners 40th and we spent the day in Boston seeing the Bruins stanley cup parade and then a Redsox Game….no good eating there! Hopefully back to behaving tomorrow! I agree with the crystal light…it did use to be icky but is much better now!

I think it would be much healthier to flavor your water with natural ingredients such as infusing strawberry, cucumber, lemon, orange, lime or pineapple. I think artificial sweeteners are not good for us.

Oh I totally agree – honestly I didn’t think of that. Any suggestions of good combos?

Check out EnergyPure packets at http://www.genesispure.com/ipeterson This gives you 5-8 hours of natural, no sugar added, gluten free energy. All of it is vitamins and minerals mixed with 8-10oz of water.

    • christy on June 19, 2011 at 7:50 pm

I agree about the artificial sweetners!

Thats why I stay away from Crystal Light. I try not to do anything with aspertame in it. One trick I learned when I was having a hard time drinking enough water was to put a drop or 2 of vanilla extract into my nalgene bottle. it doesn’t change the taste but it adds a smell to it that tricks your senses into wanting it more. Today I did pretty good with eating. No real exercise because I was too busy with Father’s Day to find time for myself.

    Thanks for the great idea!

I also really like “mio” for water but its kind of expensive. the first time I tried it I drank like 8 cups back to back lol I loved it

Today’s been a LONG day! Never went to sleep and am now home from our vacation! I’m trying to get myself motivated to go for a walk/run but I think sleep may win out! Though, I did do quite a bit of walking and carrying luggage/kids through the airports, and then went for a short walk with dh and kiddos after dinner!

My suggestion for flavored water is to put watermelon slices in the pitcher of water and let the flavor infuse – so good!

  7. CandyLand on June 19, 2011 at 8:18 pm

I did really bad today. Burger and fries for dinner with a milkshake! Ill make up for it tomorrow though.

I agree with flavoring the waters. You can make ice cubes with your favorite juice and put them in a glass of water for a slow flavor infusion.

I did no exercise today. My legs were stiff as a board and I was very sore. I will start again tomorrow. I did eat well and drank a lot of water. I had no pop or sweet drinks. Also I managed to do 50 sit-ups.

I cannot have Crystal Light because it has nutrasweet and nutrasweet is really bad for you. For Father’s Day my daughter made a cake, and I only had a very little slice…was proud of myself. Went out and got some new shoes to start some new Zumba classes this week.

I ate correctly today and drank water but I didn’t do any exercises. I sat on my porch all day today and was just so relaxed I didn’t want to do anything. Tomorrow I will be getting up early and exercising before going to work.

I got hooked on Crystal Light last summer when I did a boot camp. I recently bought quite a few and they have been really god to drink, especially when I am craving pop. I think it hepls just to drink something with flavor. My fave in the Lemonade, though I dont like the pink Lemonade.
As far as the day goes, I did so-so. We went out to eat for Father’s Day so I splurged some. I did take the kids to the park twice today and we played tag so I got a little exercise. Tomorrow, back to the gym!

I occasionally drink mio or crystal light or similar products but really try to limit them. Sice the have no calories you really aren’t able to keep track of how much of the sweeteners you ar getting. Atleast with real sugar you know exactly how much is in there. I like to flavor my water by infusing fruit into it like cucumbers and melon or lemon or grapes with apples.
Today was my exercise break and I didn not eat well but kept up my water only and will be working out tomorrow

There is a Crystal Light that uses Trivia. It is called Pure Fitness. I can only get the lemonade flavor but I love it. It doesn’t have nasty sweeteners (which make you retain water by the way). Good for you for not drinking soda and increasing the water intake!

    • SwagGrabber Sheri on June 20, 2011 at 6:22 am

That is actually the one I use – the Pure Fitness. I guess I should have specified that….LOL.

  14. Joy Shepard on June 20, 2011 at 8:45 am

I really like the stuff, but it does have sodium in at and is not as good for your as water. Had a really bad chocolate day yesterday ):

  15. sandy on June 20, 2011 at 10:59 am

any fruit, melon, or cucumber is great to flavor water. Personally i like mangoes or peaches and green tea in my water.

  16. the other beth on June 20, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Took a nice extra long walk walking the dogs.

Rough weekend. I need to learn ways to eat out and eat healthy. I’ll work on that this summer.
